Senior Fixed Assets Accountant

For one of our clients, we are currently looking for
Senior Fixed Assets Accountant
Location: Budapest, Hungary
Duties:
- Ensure timely and accurate Fixed Asset Accounting for a number of entities in the country supported by the team
- Ensure full reconciliations from ledgers to statutory accounts and corporate reporting
- Timely response to queries raised on accounts and other analyses
- Reporting and control activities to assure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the country supported
- Support of timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes
- Processing of disposals incl. preparation of disposal journals and related guidance and support to other team members.
- Ensuring proper accounting treatment, particularly with regard to fixed assets management in SL, GL.
- Period end close (monthly, quarterly, year-end) - transfer of assets under construction to addition to fixed assets.
- Verification and handling of adjusting entries and transfers for capital expenditures.
- Screen and review inferior assets, preparation and booking of transfer posting documents.
- Process depreciation in terms of local GAAP and IFRS with appropriate sense check and analyse upcoming deviations.
- Fixed Assets master data processing
- Reconciliation of accounts, preparation of quarterly reports and ad hoc reports.
- Identification of values for fire insurance planned values for depreciation.
- Ensuring the right assignment of assets to the functional entities through monitoring activities and reconciliation of fixed assets ledger.
- Query handling for capital expenditures, advisory if corrections are necessary, accounting support.
- First point of contact for fixed assets related queries (audit, system tests, etc.)
Requirements:
- Willingness to relocate to Budapest (Hungary)
- Relevant degree (Finance/Accounting)
- 4+ years’ experience in accounting/controlling
- Language and interpersonal skills with particular focus on client responsiveness
- Good level of analytical skills, numeracy and good financial understanding
- Customer- and service-oriented thinking,
- Readiness for action and ability to work under pressure,
- Self-confident appearance in relations to the internal contacts
- Strong communication and cooperation skills
- Assertiveness
- Fluent English and Polish knowledge is a must
- Local (Polish) GAAP and IFRS knowledge is an advantage
