The MCC Duty Engineer is responsible for continuous monitoring of aircraft technical status, ensuring correct 24 hours short term maintenance planning and AOG recovery, providing immediate real time expert advice and guidance to Wizz Air pilots on interpretation of the MEL dispatch and technical trouble shooting. The role is the primary interface between the maintenance department and the flight crew on a day to day basis. The role reports to the MCC supervisor and ultimately to the Head of Engineering and Maintenance.
- Create a 3 days plan of all line and light maintenance activity on the Wizz Air fleet, incorporating all routine and non-routine work this plan will detail exactly when and where the work will take place
- Work with Operations Control Centre to update the maintenance plan as a result of changes to the day to day operation
- Ensure compliance with all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements, including daily and weekly checks, including monitoring all aircraft condition data to understand status of the fleet, and developing necessary actions to rectify findings and areas of non-compliance
- Monitor all deferred defects across the fleet and ensure plans are in place to rectify each within the allowed time limit
- Track and analyze repetitive and recurring defects across the fleet, liaise with flight crews to understand and advise on technical arising as and when they happen
- Liaise with maintenance suppliers at each base to understand and advice on technical arising as and when they happen
- Ensure maintenance resource is located for all non-scheduled arising in the most expeditious manner possible
- Manage the AOG recovery process including AOG spares request initiation and follow up
- Assure precise and on time communication regarding all technical related schedule disruptions
- University/college degree
- EASA PART-66 CAT-B1 or CAT-B2 certified on A320 family
- At least 5 years relevant work experience, in depth troubleshooting experience desirable
- Previous experience within a JAR-OPS 1 approved organization, and familiarity with EASA Part M and Part 145 requirements
- Maintenance control and/or line maintenance experience is an advantage
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in intense environment
- Driver license
- Fluent English essential, Hungarian and/or Polish desirable
