We are looking for a Windows Infrastructure Services Engineer who will join our Shared Service Center in Cracow. Our WIS department is responsible for enabling the second-line support regarding the Windows Infrastructure and a central point of knowledge for all IT support units within the organization.
In this position you will report to the Windows Infrastructure Services Manager (based in Maastricht,
the Netherlands). As a WIS Engineer you will be responsible for the Windows related environments, including second-line support and also on duty guard service. You will take care of implementing all Windows related standards, security settings and service provisioning within Sappi Europe, Sappi Trading and on global level.
- Take part in projects and monitor these projects to ensure that the solutions, time scales, security and quality criteria
- are achieved
- Research and evaluate alternatives for the enhancement or re-engineering of the Windows Infrastructure, in accordance with the needs and objectives of the organisation
- Monitor and assess the Windows processes, including assessment and reduction of risks, and identify automation opportunities
- Ensure that problems and incidents are resolved and causes investigated to prevent recurrence
- Manage configurations and changes to minimise the likelihood of disruptions, unauthorised alterations and errors
- Deliver and manage IT infrastructure resources, used to support business processes in a cost-effective manner
- Ensure security to safeguard information against unauthorised use, disclosure, modification, damage or loss
- Develop and maintain IT continuity plans to ensure timely and effective restoration of services in the event of a disaster
- Take care of an adequate antivirus and security patch management, so the organization is protected for any kind of security attacks from inside and outside
- Maintain constructive relationships with the other departments within Sappi, internal and external business partners, suppliers and contractors
- You have an IT-related Bachelor or Master degree or relevant working experience
- You possess strong experience in at least two of the following areas: Windows, Citrix Xenapp, RES one workspace, Exchange, SharePoint, MS SQL, Storage (HP – EMC), Backup (DPM), VMware, Lync, (Thin) Client & Server management, VEEAM, System center, Printing, etc.
- You are passionate about IT and keep yourself up-to-date in this area
- You have fluent knowledge of English, knowledge of German or Dutch would be an advantage
- You have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
