We are looking for a Network/ Web Developer to complement our existing Web 2.0 team. We require an engineer that can fit in our fast paced, hectic and challenging department. We have an aggressive rollout plan and require an engineer who is not frightened by working simultaneously on multiple projects and balancing the needs of many parts of the business at once. The position will focus on developing, building and improving our internal and external server farms. We are building out in MySQL & Fedora or any appropriate version that may be needed. We require an engineer who is fully capable of balancing and tuning our existing servers and specifying, preparing and building our new servers as we progress. Details: You will be working within a Linux and primarily open-source environment. Strong command of PHP, Multi-server MySQL environments and Load balanced Apache Servers. PHP 5.0 + MySQL + RSS Knowledge of Database and Server performance issues Strong verbal and written communication skills due to the dynamic nature of discussions with other engineering and product teams. Experience with Video on demand, video streaming and billing systems for VOD a big plus Experience with Bug Tracking tools You will also be responsible for developing production-level code as well as proof-of-concepts and prototypes. Wymagania

Expert knowledge of server tuning and performance related issues is a must. In addition to maintaining our existing external farm we also have several internal servers that require administration and management. The engineer will need to be expertly skilled in PHP, MySQL, Perl, Linux based management tools and monitoring software. The engineer will be responsible for installing and building a fully redundant and rapidly deployable and robust system. Knowledge of remote boot, system imaging and load balancing is a must. We are also installing and utilizing a CONDOR based grid computing system so an understanding would be beneficial as would LVS. The Engineer will also be responsible for our background and backend database maintenance tasks. These will involve translation routines, video conversions, database cleansing and many other tasks. These tasks will be written in PHP and the engineer will require a strong mastering of CRON, PHP and MySQL database routines. Certain tasks will also be incorporated directly onto the consumer facing side of the web server. Key attributes - ability to maintain, tune & develop Web & databases servers. Maintain high availability servers and write and install database and back end tasks crucial to our existing services. As we also implement video streaming and downloading and engineers should be familiar with the problems/opportunities that these generate.
