Our client - Aero Vodochody is the leading Czech Aerospace company, based in Prague, acting in the field of Aerostructures, MRO and Defence. Aero Vodochody design and manufacture complex integrated Aerostructures for helicopters, commercial and military aircraft.
The company has been in aerospace for more than 90 years, being historically the world biggest manufacturer of military trainer jets (L29, L39, L159). The latest model L159 was entirely designed and certified by Aero Vodochody at the turn of the century and is now in active service in the Czech Air Force.

Aero Vodochody was recently selected as one of the risk-sharing partners of Embraer on KC-390 military aircraft program, with responsibility of 4 major workpackages (Rear fuselage II, Doors, Cargo ramp and Fixed Leading Edge).
In order to manage on-going and new programs, Aero Vodochody is now looking for the Vice-President of Engineering - highly motivated and skilled individual willing to participate in international projects.
Position and Mission:
- The Vice-President of Engineering reports to the CEO.
- Is fully responsible to organize and manage the Engineering department (50-70 persons), in order to execute on-going risk-sharing development programs on quality, time and budget.
- Is responsible to define and manage subcontractors and other external specialists.
- Is responsible to continuously improve skills and practices within the team in order to achieve the best standards in the industry and gain recognition from our major customers.
- Develops relationship with international customers at high level and supports business development activities when required.
- Controls the team performance through a set of KPIs and reports on a regular base during management meetings.
- Aero Vodochody Engineering department is currently focused on design and development of Bombardier C-series Fixed Leading Edge and Embraer KC-390 Fixed Leading Edge, with part of the engineering activities being carried out at the customer premises for the Joint Definition phases
Profile:
The suitable candidate should be a highly motivated and experienced
individual eager to relocate in Prague and travel internationally.
Experience:
- Mechanical engineer or equivalent with no less than 15 years experience, including 5 to 10 years in design and development of structures, and 7 years in Project Management acquired on international aerospace programs.
- Demonstrated management of a design and development team.
- Strong managerial skills, leadership, motivation and mentoring of people.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluent English.
