Being part of the Quality Engineering & Assurance practice, you will tap into the vast pool of experience on software testing and quality assurance. Cognizant gives you the opportunity to bring all our exiting tooling, innovations and assets to our clients and help developing these together with our clients. You will work on exciting projects with our customers, taking the essential role of advising our clients on the quality of the software being tested. Additionally, you will work with our clients to pro-actively advise them how to accelerate and improve the testing process.
DESCRIPTION:
Cognizant provides test and consulting services to clients for various business segments and across geographies. Cognizant is oriented to provide roadmap and enhance client value proposition to address business issues pertaining to testing and automation, deriving enhanced value optimization and effectiveness. Seasoned test consultants work closely with client location to understand their problems, gather data and design customized solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development of server-side Java Web applications.
- Active participation in all aspects of solution development.
- Clarify requirements and discuss solution options with analysts.
- Drive application design in collaboration with architects.
- Collaborate with front-end developers on API design.
- Implement/test and document solution, perform peer code reviews, troubleshoot and fix production issues.
- Excellent technical and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in German and English (C1 - negotiation level).
- Ability to design, build and maintain applications in an Agile and Waterfall environment.
- Experience in collaboration with front-end developers on API design
- Active participation in all aspects of solution development.
- Support documents creation, participation in a multi-disciplinary team and review of the End-to-End production-work orders.
- A proven track record of leading in a similar environment, acting as open–minded Team member in an Agile Team
- Delivering software solutions to demanding product owners, being part of a large and (possibly) distributed team.
- Business analysis Formal and modern test driven development techniques.
- Server side Java: J2SE or J2EE
- Test driven development and continuous integration & deployment
- Web Application Development
Knowledge in these other technologies would be beneficial:
- Oracle and/or DB2 databases, SQL
- Knowledge of Spring, SOAP, JUnit, JMS, Python, Perl, WebLogic, Puppet,
- Functional programming languages (e.g. Scala)
