Job description:
The Risk Analyst assesses, analyzes, and monitors operational market risks for the fund accounting products and services. The individual analyzes and recommends solutions on routine or repeat inquiries and practices as well as assists the Risk Manager in appraising senior management of risks that have been identified and provides support in determining an appropriate resolution.
The position is involved with ongoing market analysis of Best Practices and benchmarking techniques to enhance the overall control and process design for Fund Accounting. In addition, the Risk Analyst assists the Risk Manager with new business and product development efforts.
- Develop timely analysis on the condition of position, receivable, pricing and trial balance reconciliations
- Implement continuous monitoring and self assessment tools and practices
- Monitor loss activity resulting from processing errors (E&Os) and correcting action; coordinate corrective action with Client Servicing teams and Sr. Mgt.
- Communicate policies and procedures to internal Investor Services areas to ensure risk mitigation across the Investor Services business line
- Facilitate, assess and resolve legal, tax, regulatory, compliance and operational risk issues that arise in the Investor Services business line
- Assist in the establishment of documentation and controls to manage legal, tax, regulatory and credit risk for Investor Services clients and products
- Define, document, monitor and report on critical fund accounting control processes
- Participate, and at times lead various projects and regulatory-driven initiatives that impact the business line to ensure that the appropriate risk mitigation is applied to business processes and operating arrangements. Tasks include creation of meeting agendas, documentation of meeting minutes, maintenance of project plans and execution and oversight and facilitation of various project deliverables
- Conduct detailed research, review and investigation independently and with others in the risk and control areas to facilitate the completion of deliverables that arise with respect to various management committees and working groups.
