QA Team Lead

Job description
The Test Lead leads a product test team. They are responsible for creating, documenting and implementing all testing activities. They should be able to mentor test engineers and lead the team on a technical level. Communicates with software developers and development leads, interacts with Quality Manager. It is a "hands-on" role where the candidate should have strong technical skills and extensive experience in software testing. Researches and implements new or improves current testing methods, processes, tools, and systems. Develops and coordinates appropriate test procedures. Plans, estimates and implements testing projects. Writes specific test cases. Performs testing on specific product.
What would you be responsible for in this role?
- Lead single product test team
- Test on multiple platforms and databases
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time with high quality
- Mentor and motivate test engineers
- Responsibility for on time delivery of the results in required quality
- Responsibility for creation of test documentation and implementation of test procedures
- Perform functional, regression, scalability, stress, and performance testing
- Assist customer support on analyzing customer issues and providing extensive detail for the development team
- Propose changes to current processes and tools to ensure maximum efficiency and repeatability of the tests
- Responsible for test documentation and reporting
Requirements
What is needed for this position?
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Experience testing commercial software, writing test documentation and test procedures
- Experience with manual testing of SW application under MS Windows and web-based applications
- Strong problem solving and debugging skills
- Demonstrated creativity and intelligent thinking
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Solid understanding of the development processes
- English language speaking and writing skills
What are some desired skills?
- Knowledge of Test/Quality Assurance process and procedures
- Networking knowledge and experience (SNMP, TCP/IP)
- Experience with test automation
