Hydroplan Operations Limited is a UK based Asset Management Company focused on delivering value for renewable energy schemes through Operations, Maintenance, Monitoring and Management. We are looking for the following technicians with a mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical background to join a team that delivers scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and service programmes for clients across Scotland. The ideal candidates will be able to successfully undertake fault finding, repair and maintenance activities of hydropower plants, including hydraulic systems, turbines, motors, pumps, inverters, PLC control systems, 3 phase electrical systems.

Qualifications and Skills
- A formal engineering qualification (Bachelor’s Degree, Masters) – likely to be Mechanical or Electrical
- 2-3 years experience with a contractor or Engineering consultancy (lesser requirement for the Assistant PE)
- Site experience such is installation and commissioning is desirable
- A good knowledge of engineering quantities and programmes
- Good ability with engineering calculations and design reports
- High proficiency in M365 and SharePoint
- Able to work within a dynamic environment with good attention to detail
- Able to work to tight deadlines and self-manage priorities against multiple tasks
- IELTS B1 / B2 English language written & spoken
Job Description
- Project Engineering/Management of Capital Projects
- Examining the engineering requirements of designs and comparing these with the commercial and site constraints.
- Managing suppliers & service providers and keeping track of project programme.
- Maintaining cost control for projects and their individual elements.
- Assisting in the supervision of pipe testing and inspection of civil engineering structures.
- Liaison between designers, site staff/contractors and Project Manager.
- Assisting with managing suppliers and service providers.
- Know the sequence of jobs (in the office) and pre-empt the need for information/client input
- Manage the interface between the site-based contractor’s staff and the designers and help in resolving site based design changes.
- Work as part of a team to suggest improvements which will benefit our clients.
Shift Work
- Regular weekly travel and overnight stays to remote sites for 3 to 4 nights each week.
- The post may be required to undertake some shift work (early or late)
- Weekend work may be required occasionally
- Overtime will be paid where appropriate
