Product Development Engineer

As product development engineer you will work within the R&D-team. Together with your colleagues from the design team, you will be responsible for the design of new gearboxes based on customer specifications. You leave your mark on the technologic specifications of a product or part of it. You are involved in the co-engineering with suppliers and with the internal departments of process engineering, purchasing, supplier quality and validation.
Expected:
- master in Engineering in Mechanics or Electro-mechanics
- a great dose of creativity combined with an interest in technical deepening
- experienced in the design of Gear Units for Wind Turbine applications
- a good knowledge of languages – Dutch, German, English - is an asset.
Technical Skills:
- experience with PTC Creo 2.0 and/or Autodesk Inventor 2011 required, experience with Windchill is an asset. -10 years design experience (not drafting but designing)
- 3D CAD experience on Inventor and Creo 2.0
- experience with Windchill
- experience in developping gear units for Wind Turbines
- actively worked on 3D modelling of large castings,
- actively worked on calculations of shafts, bolts, keys, press fits, lubrication systems
- actively worked on making 2D drawings, very familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- knowledge of fatigue mechanisms and applicable material properties of typical cast iron and steel grades
- basic understanding of gears and bearings and how they can influence other components in the gear unit
- basic understanding of FEA, able to understand results from simulations and defining consequences on a design
- familiar with requirements of IEC 61400-4
- open for change, learing fast to blend in into our ZFWP way of working
- zero defect attitude
