JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT:
The basic function of the job is to ensure that all marketing issues that impact Federal Express in that country are addressed in a manner that is consistent with the company corporate plan. The job holder will examine all external and internal factors that could affect the business and develop an on-going action plan that ensures the region and country’s revenue and volume goals are achieved.
JOB SIZE/DIMENSIONS
The Job Holder will in support of the country business plan operate and control a marketing budget of 1.5m USD. They will be the key driver in developing the country rev/vol/yield business plan. They will typically have one internal report and manage a minimum of 4 external agencies giving a typical span of control of 9 in total
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Develop the country annual business plan working with Sales, Operations and Finance locally. This plan will include rev/vol/yield/product mix.
2. Develop executive and evaluate a marketing plan that incorporates all aspects of the marketing mix – Product Development, Pricing, Promotion, Placement etc. in support of the country business plan.
3. Develop, execute and evaluate a marketing activity plan that informs, incentivises and maximises the revenue we get from each key customer group – existing clients, prospects and employees.
4. Monitor on-going market developments and competitor activity and recommend company response where appropriate. This will include details on market share, service improvements, advertising campaigns etc.
5. Develop with centre on-going customer satisfaction studies and focus groups that can be used to measure performance locally within all key areas and be
used to direct local quality initiatives accordingly.
6. Provide all the necessary sales support materials for Sales, CSA’s, Couriers and other workgroups to effectively ‘sell’ the services of FedEx at the right level according to the audience being addressed.
7. Develop, execute and evaluate a communication programme that specifically addresses the needs of external press relations and internal employees.
8. Select and manage all marketing agencies, ensuring work produced is of the desired quality, meets the objectives set and is executed within corporate guidelines.
9. Manage and report on a monthly basis, a budget system showing actual and committed expenditure for month and year to date.
