Junior Project Manager

Job description
Working under the direct supervision of the Projects Director, in order to understand the company procedures and expertises, the successful candidate will be placed in some EPC Projects that ARANER is already developping in UAE for few months.
After the training period, the successful candidate will be able to oversee and manage Industrial EPC Project by closely working with the stakeholders having the following responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Engineering and Projects Managements Departments to determine the specifications of the project within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters.
- Execute projects agreed upon strategy with the Project Management and Engineering Departments determining all the activities needed to ensure that the objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters mitigating project risks. .
- Set targets, objectives and clear responsibilities for all supervised staff, progressively monitor individual performance against the agreed criteria and conduct formal appraisals in keeping with time frames.
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed
- Evaluate progress and review the reports performed by his team.
- Manage project documentation (drawings, datasheets, plans, certificates, Quotations, proposal, receipts, invoices, etc.).
- Collaborate with procurement, suppliers & vendors during proposal/ bid/ quote stage to ensure a competitive and cost-effective solution is proposed.
- Manage and oversee upgrades and changes in the design strategy of projects to ensure all the changes have been captured as per business unit requirements.
- Review and evaluate work plan documents, drawings and approve deliverables at each work stage.
- Keep up to date about the knowledge of different materials, suppliers, fit out companies etc.
- Contribute and review the project Key Performance Indicators to determine accurate status of project, making tactical decisions for allocating resources, and assigning staff requirements, to maintain project on target.
- Manage changes to Engineering scope and assist in obtaining written client approval on all changes before proceeding with work.
- Prepare reports for corrective actions if project becomes behind schedule or overspends budget, and suggest recovery plan under direction of Projects Director.
- Ensure proper closeout of project including transmittal of final documentation to client.
- Act as the single point of contact between ARANER and the client.
- Ensure project invoicing is timely, accurate and in accordance with contract invoicing guidelines
- Ensure and assumes responsibility for the safe execution of the project according to all health and safety standards and report issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electromechanical engineering or equivalent in a Western University.
- Previous employment of the same/similar position, or minimum 2 years experience in Industrial EPC Projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Arabic or Spanish as a second language will be an extra.
- Solid analytical and critical thinking ability – using logic and reasoning to plan resources, identify the strengths and weakness of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Multi-tasking, self-motivated and energetic team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
