Job description
South Sudan, the world’s youngest country, has a serious shortage of healthcare services. You can help to fill this urgent gap by volunteering as an EU Aid Volunteer with VSO.
VSO is looking for experienced healthcare managers and organisational development advisers to work in health ministries across South Sudan.

Public Health Manager, Jur River County Health Department, South Sudan
Description:
You will support the director of this county health department to develop effective strategies and management processes for the smooth running of the department.
Requirements
You’ll need to have a degree level qualification with experience of working in a leadership or management role for at least three to five years. You’ll need to have significant experience in healthcare service delivery at community level. You’ll also be able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of primary and community healthcare and how to improve access to services.
Important:
VSO EU Aid volunteers is one of several pilot projects under the EU Aid Volunteers scheme, developed by the European Community Humanitarian Office (ECHO). In order to apply, you’ll need to be a citizen of an EU member state and be ready to start your placement between November 2012 and February 2013.
Please note that this is a voluntary job. VSO will provide you with training before your placement, a local living allowance, return flights, accommodation and insurance.
