The Global Mobility Specialist role supports this mission statement at a global level. Providing support and advice to both the assignee and the business this role is key to the coordination of Global Mobility activities and international assignment process and across Hitachi Energy.
As a Global Mobility Specialist, you will manage international assignments on global level and support the Global Mobility strategy: acting as a single point of contact case manager for assignees and the business, this role will provide high-level support and advice in all areas of assignment management.
Report directly to Head of Global Mobility.
We are looking for a confident individual that can maintain relationships in the business at varying levels of seniority. Must possess good communication skills and be able to interact with people of different cultures and nationalities. Should enjoy work that is complex and detailed in nature and involves problem solving. The Global Mobility Specialist will in some instance required to connect with stakeholders, other functions and externally with vendors to gather information, analyze, and provide solutions.
- Manage the assignment process for a wide population of assignees in-line with Hitachi Energy Global Mobility policies and philosophy.
- Act as a case manager who is the single point of contact for the assignee and family to provide advice in the end-to-end management of their individual assignment within Hitachi Energy.
- Run salary calculations utilizing balance sheet approach, define compensation package, and prepare cost estimates.
- Brief assignees on the conditions of the assignment package and provide support on understanding of the terms of the mobility policy and any related benefits.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to the assignee on all matters relating to their tax, immigration, and legal requirements in respect to the assignment. Assignee has the information on who to contact etc.
- Liaises with HR Business partner and relevant business line to coordinate assignment move process.
- Ensure that Global Mobility Administrators produces all assignment related paperwork and support documentation.
- Ensure that third party providers are instructed by Global Mobility Administrator to the assignment process; this could include suppliers for: tax; immigration; destination services; cultural training and move services.
- Support counterparts in the Global Mobility Function worldwide in managing assignments.
- Facilitation assignment life cycle.
- Working with other Global Mobility team members to provide updates on assignment status.
- Main skills required for the role include, but are not limited to:
- A Minimum of 5 years of HR experience preferably with experience in managing global mobility matters.
- Sound knowledge of International Assignments methodologies, assignment lifecycle, salary calculations, and cost estimates.
- Understands financial computations and their impact on employees and their move.
- Ability to manage personal workload and support others where necessary.
- Good IT skills and the ability to manipulate data to report on trends and common themes.
- Should be comfortable working within an international environment and across diverse cultures.
- Excellent communication skills and a confident manner.
- Good organizational, planning, and decision-making skills.
- Delivery focused and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; additional languages preferable.
