External Relations and Fundraising Manager

Job description
The Galicia Jewish Museum External Relations and Fundraising Manager is head of the Museum’s External Relations and Communications Department, and is responsible for the promotion of the Museum both in Poland and abroad and is working with the Museum Director in Fundraising activities. The External Relations and Fundraising Manager works with existing contacts and actively develops new ones to ensure the highest level of exposure for the Museum and its activities, including taking responsibility for events organized by the Museum and undertaking fundraising initiatives. An important area of work of the External Relations and Fundraising Manager is fund- and grant-raising activities. The External Relations and Fundraising Manager manages the Communications Assistants, and reports directly to the Head of the Curatorial Affairs and the Museum Director relating to donation and grant raising. The position requires bi-lingual, Polish/English skills.
Position:
- Part-time or full-time position;
- Actively seeking new opportunities for fund- and grant-raising opportunities, and assisting with the completion of application forms as required. Maintaining contacts with Polish donors as required, assisting with Polish corporate fundraising as required, preparing any necessary fundraising materials as requested;
- Developing new and imaginative fundraising activities, a number of which will be events-base;
- Writing applications and mail-shots, using direct mailing to reach a wide range of potential and current donors. Keeping in touch with donors and supporter;
- Ensures the Museum and its activities are promoted as extensively and appropriately as possible, locally and internationally. Works with existing contacts and actively develops new opportunities to raise the profile of the Museum, and undertakes fundraising initiatives;
- Oversees the monthly programming for the Museum, including acting as the contact point for artists and others performing at the Museum;
- Maintaining existing TV, radio, press, web and other media contacts, as well actively developing new PR opportunities;
- Using PR opportunities to develop the local and international profile of the Museum;
- Advising the Museum Director on PR opportunities for the Museum; representing the Museum where appropriate;
- Ensures the efficient and timely completion of all related administrative tasks, in cooperation with the Museum Financial Controller where necessary. Completion of departmental reports;
- Other related tasks as reasonably requested.

Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work within a team;
- Knowledge of Jewish history and culture;
- Experience of working in fund raising and/or PR;
- Ability to work to tight deadlines;
- Experience of people of management;
- Good ability to manage projects;
- Availability to travel within Poland and abroad to represent the museum;
- Ability to attend museum events outside normal office hours.
