Job description
The Lead Engineer Electrical has the technical, cost and schedule responsibility for the own engineering scope of supply and/or services from the Project take-over from tendering team until handover to construction group and O&M organization.
Tasks
- Represent his engineering scope of supply and services in the project-team and in technical
- meetings towards the customer.
- Manage the team in charge of the engineering scope of supply and/or services assigned to him/her.
- Take-over project from the offer-team, review/comment on the actual project documentation: Scope of supply and Division of Work, Cost-calculation incl. supplier offers for tendering purposes. Technical and commercial contract documentation as appropriate for his work and his team risk review.
- Ensure that the design of his Engineering function is according to the applicable rules, regulations codes and standards and according to good engineering practice especially with regard to Environmental aspects and Health & Safety of Site Personal, Operators, Maintenance personnel and third parties.
- Support the engineering managers in identifying the need for training of the engineers for the efficient and effective application of Engineering Methods.
- The preparation of electrical power supply concept and key on line diagram; of electrical specification for engineering and supply; of other key documents like Consumer List, Key one line diagram, Hazardous Area Classification (if applicable), Electrical data sheets.
- The development of all kind of electrical calculations;
- The development of technical specification for all electrical equipment and bulk material, as well as Sub-contracts.
Job requirements
- Master of Engineering (Electrical) or Dipl.-Ing. (TU/U) Elektrotechnik.
- 7 – 10 years experience in the Field of Engineering for major Chemical/ Petrochemical Plants in total.
- Ideally thereof 2 – 3 years in the role as lead Specific Knowledge about the relevant international.
- Codes and standards IEC, DIN, VDE, API, NFPA etc..
- At least five years engineering experience and good knowledge appropriate to the technical activity involved, including interface clarification beyond this activity.
- At least five month site experience.
- Has a good knowledge of Engineering and Project Management tools and methods.
- Have good skills to lead, to motivate and persuade his team members.
- Has shown the ability to plan, organize and co-ordinate well, to delegate and supervise accordingly.
- Is fluent in English (written and spoken) and able to lead negotiations in English.
