As a Chief Accountant you will be leading the Accounting department within the Poland Branch of Euroclear Bank. Your main goal will be to launch and manage Accounting/Financial processes on the high standard within global structure. It’s a demanding job, but it provides enormous personal satisfaction for having such a key impact on our business.
Your part of the deal
Key tasks you will be responsible for include:

Managing the different local functional finance domains :

Being in charge of the local statutory reporting

Validating and filing the corporate tax and VAT returns
-
Being an active player in our relationship with the auditors
-
Participate actively to the periodical forecasting and budgeting exercises

Installing the necessary controls covering the actuals, the budget and the forecast and evidencing their proper execution

Being able to play the role of relay and of the informed challenger towards the business
-
Ensuring that all activities and the deployment of resources are consistent with the mission

Validating the monthly actuals of the Branch which are produced by the shared service center in Brussels

Ensuring regulatory reporting and the local (Finance) obligations towards the regulator (production and filing)

Guarantee compliance with Group Finance policies and procedures

Providing management reporting on the branch performance:

Report to the local CEO

Providing ad-hoc reports
-
Leading continuous improvement of Accounting processes:

Identify areas for improvement in collaboration with business team leaders and support them in understanding the root causes of issues

Building and leading the Accounting department of our polish branch (+/-3 FTE)
Your Profile
-
You are a certified accountant or can demonstrate a similar competency by your previous experience(s) in an accounting department
-
You have experience in working with local regulators and with external
auditors -
You have an in-depth knowledge of the Polish tax regulations
-
You have a good understanding of IFRS without necessarily being an expert
-
You possess experience in managing a local branch of a broader group
-
You have a deep understanding of shared service process areas (Accounts Payables / Travel & Entertainment / Contract Management / Accounts Receivables / Credit Control)

You are familiar with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system: ideally Oracle ERP

You have a track record of managing change

Ideally you have experience in establishing new operations with the ability to attract, retain and motivate people

You are a strong team player

You are ready to travel to Brussels for short stays every two months

You are fluent in written and spoken English - the internal language of Euroclear is English
