Applications Operations Engineer
Location: Czechy, Praga
Job description
The Application Services team makes sure that applications critical to this business are available, performance optimized and always up to date. We are looking for new colleagues to join this team.
Main responsibilities:
- Driving ongoing improvements in operational practices, tools & processes
- Implementing automations, dashboards, escalations and alerts
- Performing day-day operational tasks (monitoring availability and utilization, planning and executing changes)
- Handling incidents (analysis, provide work-around) in cooperation with the IT infrastructure service provider
- Driving root cause analysis (RCA) and problem management
- 7x24h stand by duty for the applications on a rotation basis
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience
- PL/SQL language with experience on Oracle and / or MS-SQL
- 1+ years in the area of computer operations and/or application development with significant experience working and troubleshooting in a production environment
- Experience in programming in a modern scripting language (Python and/or shell preferred)
- Fast adaptation to small team work environment
- Self-reliance by tasks solution combined with a strong team-oriented focus
- Good communication skills for communicating various system issues and meeting the customer’s expectations
- Effective management of time to assure commitments are met without delay
- Readiness for permanent increase of achieved knowledge level
- Language skills: fluency in English is a must, German would be an advantage
- Full time job based on standard employment contract
- Willingness to travel during first months to headquarter (Switzerland)
Others (optional):
- Understanding of Monitoring concepts and configuration
- Knowledge of Java application servers and Web Services
