SOM (Service Offering Manager) / SME (Subject Matter Expert) develops and maintains automated operations and delivery framework in a particular technology. IT is a role which brings together skills of Architect and DevOps.  We are looking for talented Experts in Oracle Weblogic/Linux with potential for Architect to join our team of SMEs and help us develop tools to turn manual tasks into efficiently automated processes. This position may require working on-call support. SME will work with Architects, Developers and Operations' support teams to deliver the automated processes then used by our customers for self- provisioning of required middleware services. Our team is focusing on developing CI/CD (Continuous integration and Continuous delivery) solutions for our customers. With support for T&T and Steady State activities.
 
Typical activities:
  • Develop Customers Business needs in Oracle Weblogic
  • Develop Weblogic for automatic Rollouts
  • Test and implementation of new Versions or Hotfixes released by the vendor
  • Prepare Weblogic environment for User Acceptance Test (UAT)
  • Maintain the Customer environment where Weblogic is implemented
  • Maintain existing documents like System or User Manual and creating new if needed
  • Create change and installation plan inside Service Manager (IBM SmartCloud Control Desk)
  • Interact with vendor Support team for problem solving, application improvements, Identify problems, propose alternatives and provide support to negotiate solutions with all involved parties
  • Debug complex errors which can't be handled from second Level
  • Analyze requirements, documents and agrees with business and/or customer IT department 
  • Efficiently manage of operational activities within unexpected/stressful situations
  • Perform researches of new solutions
  • Support in decisions making process related to operational activities, taking into consideration pro and counterarguments
  • Identify opportunities to improve activity, processes and regulations
  • Performs all described requirements in complex daily environment on a competitive level, with accuracy, quality and per schedule
  • Awareness regarding Information Security
  • Solid communication, negotiation and interaction skills, decision taker, good presentation skills
  • Bringing together: customer’s needs with technical possibilities
  • Willing to work on “call duty”
Requirements:
  • English (both written and spoken),
  • Deep knowledge of Weblogic,
  • Skilled in Java EE related technologies such as: JMS/MQ/JDBC
  • Network (OSI layer),
  • Operating System (kernel behavior) knowledge,
  • Linux scripting (bash/jacl/jython/perl/python scripting)
  • basic skills in PowerShell.
Nice to have:
  • E2E service implementation in complex environment,
  • IBM SmartCloud Control Desk basic knowledge,
  • Configuration management tools (puppet, chef, ansible)
  • RES scripting experience,
  • DevOps tools: Jenkins, git
