Digital Business Automation (DigiBA) are a global function with over 250 staff in 12 countries. We are responsible for defining and implementing the strategy for a number of critical IT services across the Bank, as well as ensuring their availability, recoverability and security.
This role is part of a global Business Support team that is responsible for managing the overall departmental budget, headcount, project delivery, and vendor risk management.
The role will involve leading all aspects relating to vendor risk management to ensure that we develop strong and effective relationships with our vendors, identify potential risks and issues in a timely manner, track risks and issues through to resolution, and have a clear strategy in relation to our vendors.
- Establish a baseline of vendor risk and identify areas of exposure.
- Support the design and implementation of a common and consistent vendor risk management approach across DigiBA teams and entities to effectively manage risk in accordance with HSBC policies.
- Provide guidance to DigiBA department head and leadership team to ensure vendor risk management requirements are fully understood.
- Maintain a structured internal governance framework to ensure effective oversight of vendor risk.
- Help ensure strong oversight of all vendor risks and provide stakeholders with visibility of existing and emerging risks.
- Support the development and execution of a robust communication and training plan to facilitate the effective application and awareness of vendor risk management across DigiBA.
- Present reporting of high risk vendor contracts to senior management, highlighting vendor risks / ineffective controls and the action plan(s) to address them.
- Lead development of vendor strategy, ensuring DigiBA teams and entity strategies are aligned, and that appropriate actions to support the strategy and / or mitigate vendor risk, are executed in advance of contract renewal negotiations.
- Prepare and complete periodic assessments of vendor performance in accordance with HSBCs vendor risk management framework.
- Act as the lead for monitoring vendor risk incidents, remediation resolution (including development and execution of corrective action plans), and ensure follow-on reporting and monitoring.
- Collaborate with DigiBA teams and entities to develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for high risk vendor contracts.
- Support internal and external audit assessments as required.
- Retain oversight of all vendor related expenditure and zero-cost activities e.g. Proof of Concept, Proof of Value.
- Relationship management skills and proven executive presentation skills.
