VB.NET Developer

Main tasks:
As a VB.NET Programmer, you will be responsible for assisting with the analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of the firm's application programs, which support the business needs of the firm.
You will be responsible for Software development (VB.NET / C# Web development and Javascript/ JSON) within the Alternatives Systems Department as well as ensuring program performance through systematic test plans.
To be successful, you will need to:
- participate in the design, specification, development, and testing of applications adhering to web standards and methodology
- be responsible for the configuration and the customization of a Web 2.0/Ajax based application using VB.NET & C# and JavaScript/JSON technologies. The underlying architecture is a sophisticated platform (vendor product) comprising a powerful .NET framework, based on industry-standard Microsoft.NET technology
- execute unit test plans, document test results and resolve discrepancies as deemed appropriate
- debug programs and troubleshoot application issues, in production and development
- be self-motivated to research, learn and apply current technology to solve business challenges
- have the ability to work independently with some guidance
- prepare supporting documentation as needed, including but not limited to Technical Specifications and Unit Test plans
- create and modify Views in the data-model. Create and modify the datamart architecture.
Requirements:
Qualifications include:
- solid experience, 3 years minimum, in VB.NET & C#, JavaScript/JSON programming
- having working knowledge with MS Visual Studio 2012 - 2015 for Web applications and Web Services development is required
- having a working knowledge with AJAX,.NET architecture and MVC framework
- knowledge of SAS, databases (Oracle), MS Office
- good organizational skills, ability to work quickly, and accurately
- strong analytical, design, communication, testing and documenting skills
- the ability to work in a team environment
- the ability to teach/share knowledge
- superior written and oral communications skills
Other preferred Skills/Experience:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related field
- knowledge of full life-cycle methodology of systems development
- knowledge of eFront FrontInvest Alternatives vendor product a plus.
