Are you up to the challenge of solving difficult business problems using the latest technology and UI techniques? We are looking for an intelligent, clever, highly motivated User Interface (UI) Developer who can provide design expertise and help guide the delivery of our next generation IT management and monitoring software. The UI team works in a fast paced environment and is growing to meet our current and future business needs. This position requires an ability to design responsive, scalable solutions, ensure development execution, and champion quality throughout the software development process.
What UI Developer does in SolarWinds:
- Innovate using the latest web technologies to create best in class experiences for our customers
- Work closely with the world class UX and product design teams to implement modern user experiences for our products
- Designs and implement reusable UI components and writes quality code (including HTML, CSS, and JS)
- Contributes to estimation and scoping of projects
- Troubleshoot front-end issues for existing applications
- Works on a team which follows fast agile process with short sprint release cycle
Requirements
What is required for this position?
- An eye for great UI and the ability to recommend changes to fix usability issues
- Knowledge of software UI design principles and passion about developing great user experiences
- Commercial front-end development experience focused on easy-to-use and fluid interfaces
- Experience with common modern JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS, ReactJS, Bootstrap and jQuery
- Expert-level XHTML experience (esp. cross-browser compatibility and degradation strategies)
- Experience with C#, Java, or other high-level programming language
- Acceptable spoken/written English so you can express your awesome ideas and communicate them to other people (lots of us keep improving our skills during English lessons we have right here in the office)
What are some desired (not required) skills?
- Experience with front-end MVC/MVVM JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Ember, Knockout, or React
- Experienced in Responsive web design
- Experience with Visual Studio tools and best practices
- Experience developing reusable front-end components for other developers to consume
- Experience with MVC Framework, Data API (SQL, XML, Web services, etc.)
- Experience with Agile development practices
