Translation Vendor Manager

Job description
For our office in Wrocław, we are currently looking for a
Translation Vendor Manager
to maintain and manage the database of freelance translators and carry out recruitment and related translation vendor activities. The Vendor Manager develops translation partner solutions in line with business demands and the company's strategic direction. Preferably the candidate has prior vendor management experience in the translation industry. Translavic's freelance translators reside all over Europe and beyond and cover various languages and specialisations. The Vendor Manager cooperates closely with the team of Project Managers and Production Management.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring capacity for high-quality and timely deliveries of translations in requested languages
- Attracting, recruiting and contracting linguistic talent to accommodate clients' translation demands
- Thorough screening of translators' qualifications and references in line with company standards
- Rate negotiations
- Building long-lasting relationships with key vendors
- Monitoring and evaluation of vendor performance
- Keeping the information system with vendor details up-to-date
- Compiling monthly vendor reports
- Organising regular vendor meetings with the Project Management Team
- Assisting Project Management Team on specific vendor needs based on project forecasts
- Advising general management on strategic vendor approach
- Preparing translators' documents for calls for tender
Requirements
Required education and experience:
- Bachelor's or master's degree (or similar qualification) in either Human Resource Management or Translation/Philology
- At least 3 years of relevant professional work experience
- Prior experience as Vendor Manager in the translation industry is a plus

- Highly proficient in spoken and written English

- Ability to work independently and take informed decisions
- Good judgment and the ability to assess translators' qualifications with a critical eye

- Proficient Microsoft Office user
- Basic knowledge of translation technology/translation CAT tools is a plus
