The Translation Coordinator is responsible for managing and scheduling all translation projects of training materials and documentation materials for Motorola Solutions Learning. The role will require the coordinator to liaise with the development teams (Product, Learning, and Documentation), the Global Translation Manager and the appointed translation company. This role should manage each translation project with the following Specific Responsibilities:
Solid understanding of the Global MSL translation process and terminology used within the process
• Liaise with the Design & Development teams for the training, documentation, and software source material required for a project
• Load the source material to the extranet site
• Write the statement of work (SOW) for each translation project
• Obtain quotes for each translation project
• Identify and work with subject matter experts (SME’s) for quality assurance checks on translated material within the timeframe of each project
• Manage all translation projects within a defined timeline
• Manage clarification questions of the translation company, working with GDD, and SME’s
• Ensure all projects are within the annual global translation budget
• Load translated material to the LMS and communicate availability to all learning leaders
• Store translated material within the same framework of GDD compass structure
• Create a mechanism for collating all translated material and record and maintain the data
• Complete the projects with moderate supervision.
• Strong team player, able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
• Project Management Experience: Minimum 2 years
• Motorola Product Knowledge: In order to understand the material being translated it is desirable to have the highest level non-engineering understanding of the features, functions, and applicability of Motorola products and systems. Prior experience or knowledge is a plus, and the ability rapidly gain such knowledge is required
Minimum requirements
Education
• Degree level of education
• Background in Translation Management, with a minimum of 2 years experience a plus but not essential.
• Essential Microsoft Products expert
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and an understanding of Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) standards
• Knowledge of a Project Management Methodology
• An industry accepted certification and/or qualification in project management
