Responsibilities:
As manager of the Projects Vendor Cost-containment (PVC) team within Enterprise Communications, this position has global responsibility to provide full life cycle services for network, voice and video solutions. This group works across infrastructure and business teams to gather requirements and coordinate with external providers to implement solutions. Emphasis is on global strategic planning which includes vendor, budget and project management as well as in-house telecom expense management.
The primary areas of focus for this position will be to manage a global team of resources and their operations/project work. We are looking for a candidate who can lead the team to improve their operational processes, establish strategic relationships with vendors, and define long term vision/road map for the group. This individual will also need strong financial and procurement experience to support budget, procurement and financial reporting processes across Enterprise Communications group.
- Manage resources to work with internal teams to track vendor incident escalations and resolution
- Request and track refunds based on outages or other contractual service level failures
- Own telecom circuit inventory, manage the ordering, installation and disconnect processes
- Reconcile vendor invoices to active circuit inventory
- Produce reporting and trend analysis to help manage vendor relationships and related costs
- Prepare status reports and monthly project management reports
- Support yearly budget process by compiling recurring maintenance and license renewal costs and analyzing budget entries by vendor, platform and team
- Compile monthly financial reports showing resource and hardware/software costs against budget
- Coordinate with Asset Management, Cost Accounting and Contracts Management teams to ensure Enterprise Communications items are being processed relative to priority and project time lines
Qualifications:
- Strong oral and written communication skills (role requires vendor interaction, internal active collaboration)
- 5-7 years of proven experience with telecommunications and other infrastructure platforms
- Vendor coordination and stewardship facilitation
- Self-starter, ability to work as an individual contributor and excel in a team environment
- Fast paced infrastructure environment, multi-tasking a must with the ability to manage own workload
- Highly motivated, quick learner with the ability to grasp new concepts and technologies
- College/university degree
