Technical Specialist Body Structures

Responsibilities:
- The Technical Specialist Body Structures is in charge of the identification and development of business opportunities around Body Structures for New Mobility, in particular for Battery Electric Vehicles.
- The Technical Specialist Body Structures is a subject matter expert, liaise with the OEMs and represents the Voice of the Customer within the internal organization.
- Cover technical exchanges around Body Structures for next-generation Vehicle Architecture (one-piece casting, structural battery / Cell-to-Car, etc.), and develop strong technical relationship with relevant experts at the OEMs.
- Attend key conferences, monitor evolution of the market and develop network.
- Collect and synthesize inputs from the market, and share within the internal organization to support idea generation and steer innovation towards customer needs.
- Identify and document critical gaps against business opportunities.
- Support acquisition of research and / or advanced engineering projects in collaboration with the OEMs.
- Support sale of new products for serial application.
- Work alongside cross-functional project teams, provide technical guidance and support delivery of projects through key engineering processes (DFMEA, DVP, etc.). In particular, track performance attribute along the project and suggest necessary actions to mitigate deviations.
Qualifications:
- MSc in Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
- 5+ years of experience in the development of body structures and / or high-voltage systems for E-Mobility, with strong knowledge of key performance attributes and associated technical requirements (e.g. Durability, NVH).
- In-depth knowledge of all aspects related to body structures, including materials (metals, plastics, composites, etc.), manufacturing processes (casting, stamping, extrusion, etc.), joining and fastening technologies, surface treatments, etc.
- Understanding of key engineering processes (DFMEA, DVP, etc.) as well as troubleshooting and problem solving methods (PDCA, 8D, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with CAD.
- Results oriented, dynamic attitude and hands-on approach to work.
- Strong organization and high level of self-reliance.
- Analytical thinking and decision making within scope of responsibility.
- Clear communication with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Particularly comfortable with customer relationships.
- Global spirit and cross-border attitude.
- Full working proficiency in English and German.
- Willing to travel.
