Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing system components in order to develop a complete understanding of the architecture and flow of control
- Create detailed system design documents, conduct design reviews and communicate specifications to the development team.
- Involved in all technical decisions for the Transfer Agency platform
- Design and lead architecture improvements in the areas of quality, stability, capacity, and performance.
- Develop automated unit/integrated test plans that will thoroughly exercise component logic to ensure adherence to requirements.
- Lead junior members of the team to deliver technical solutions
- Act as the primary technical contact with our various vendor solutions
- Coordinate with technical leads and architects across departments
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or the equivalent experience
- 5+ years of Java development experience
- 5+ years of Oracle database and SQL experience
- Experience building and architecting end-to-end java solutions
- Strong understanding of new technology and how to apply new technology in a heterogeneous technical environment consisting of home grown and vendor applications.
- Strong communication skills and an eagerness to design complex technical architectures
- Transfer Agency experience is not required but is a plus
