The Technical Instructional Designer / Trainer will drive best practice within the Training Team and work closely with trainers, product specialists, and other subject matter experts (SME’s) & stakeholders. The role is primarily in designing and developing learning solutions of consistently high quality which are aligned to the needs of the business and that support and enhance the knowledge and skills of the target audiences. Assessment of learners and evaluation of training are key components of our continuous improvement approach.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop templates, standards, and procedures for the range of training modalities
- Design and develop a range of learning solutions in a variety of formats including classroom presentations, eLearning, video, and job aids
- Development of all technical course material – interfacing with engineering, professional services and other applicable areas (departments) to ensure classroom and other course material is accurate and reflects current product features.
- Evaluate the impact of training to constantly improve the learning outcomes.
- Develop valid and reliable assessments for all training programmes
- Ability to deliver technical training when required.
Required Skills
- Degree or Diploma in Computing or similar related qualification
- 3-5 years’ experience in a fast-paced learning development environment
- Highly proficient with graphics, video, and audio editing software
- Strong experience with eLearning development tools such as Articulate or Captivate
- A clear and effective writer - excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills and experience presenting classroom training
- Experience with managing a Learning Management System desirable
- Knowledge / experience of SQL essential
- Knowledge / experience of C#, Java, or other OOP Language an advantage
