In January 2015 we opened Global Competence Center in Gdansk. The Center consists of teams responsible for driving major IT and User Experience enhancements for whole European organization, with other teams like Supply Chain, Financial Analysis & Master Data Management also establishing their operations in Gdansk.
The Supply Chain support engineer will be responsible for the implementation and support of supply chain applications in all channels of Staples Europe. He/She will work in close partnership with the ERP implementation and operations teams. The candidate will be required to travel to Amsterdam or other destinations in Europe for the duration of the ERP implementation program. This is an exciting project based role and will suit a young professional team player, who is keen to learn new supply chain technologies and project methodologies while implementing business systems all over Europe. Training will be provided on the software applications.

- The supply chain development engineer is aligned with and supports the supply chain business objectives by implementing robust technology solutions.
- Quality of Delivery (Scope, Time, Cost and Quality) of the projects of all technology based Supply Chain Solutions programs and projects.
- Operational excellence of all applications to manage the supply chain function across Europe (eg WMS, Supply Chain planning)
- IT best practices via constant focus on ITSM (IT Service Management) and recognized project methodologies are successfully applied in the Supply Chain and Customer service Competence Center
- Design and implement supply chain applications as part of a pan-EU ERP implementation program.
- Support the supply chain applications used by Staples Europe.
- Perform knowledge transfer of technology and applications to colleagues in the supply chain competence center.
- Build successful partnership with European and Global business and Technology leaders
- Manage/leverage the partnership with external vendors active in this domain (e.g. Manhattan & Associates, JDA)
Education and Experience:
- College degree, preferably in IT or Engineering or a related discipline.
- Five years with experience, having worked with warehouse management, supply chain planning or related information systems. Experience of Manhattan WMOS and/or JDA supply chain planning software is a plus.
- Good (data) analysis capabilities (SQL, Excel, Access , ...)
- Experience with interfacing between applications
- Experience of process driven software implementation
- Experience working directly with business professionals to understand their requirements and translate that into solid system requirements
- Experience in following governance structures and information technology standards.
- Experience of one or more Project methodology (e.g. Prince II, PMI PMBOK, Agile, SDLC)
