About this opportunity
Welcome to the Group Operational Risk team. We add value by overseeing and controlling how Nordea’s first line of defence (1st LoD) identifies and manages operational risks, in all areas of the business, globally. Risk management and integrity go hand in hand - it’s all about making sure that we’re a trusted partner to both our customers and society – the foundation for a great customer experiences. As Senior Risk Expert you’ll play a valuable role in contributing to the assessment of the Transaction Processing & Execution Risk Area, i.e., risk of processing & execution failure relating to internal operations, transactions, securities & collateral, and change execution. In addition, you will add value in further development of our second line of defence (2nd LoD) oversight.
What you’ll be doing:
- Continue to build and develop comprehensive oversight of Nordea's 1st LoD management of Transaction Processing & Execution Risk for Nordea Group
- Assess the design and effectiveness of controls within 1st LoD, provide advice and constructive challenge to 1st LoD
- Monitor and follow up on 1st LoD mitigating actions and provide additional recommendations based on independent risk analysis
- Contribute to the annual assurance planning process by effectively identifying key areas of focus, applying a risk-based approach; and contribute to the execution
- Provide a holistic risk picture to senior management based on results from ongoing risk analysis, monitoring and control activities

Your experience and background:
- Holder of a relevant university degree e.g. finance, economics, law, audit or similar
- Experience in risk management / operational risk management, preferably from financial institutions
- Proficiency in English
