Senior Payroll Specialist

Main activities:
- responsibility for the full payroll process for UK or/and Sweden or/and Benelux countries (coordinate HR Input before the payroll cut off, payroll provider’s calculations, all payments, accounting)
- managing workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately
- and in a timely manner
- based on the reports from HR and the Payroll Provider reconcile payroll to obtain appropriate approvals for transferring the payments, take the accountability for identifying, highlighting and resolving any discrepancies,
- coordinating all payroll related payments and filings towards company vendors and government authorities (monthly, quarterly, annual activities and reporting)
- booking payroll, statutory payments and all accruals within the Oracle system and reconcile the accounts in cooperation with other teams (GL, AP)
- ensuring documentation of all processes is in place and up to date,
- highlighting potential issues to management team's attention
- working with other team members to identify process improvements and implement those
- providing reporting against KPIs
- other ad hoc tasks as determined by the Management
What we look for:
- minimum of 2-4 years experience in finance/accounting field
- in-depth knowledge of payroll process elements, payroll processing itself and payroll accounting
- strong knowledge of payroll federal and state regulations for UK or/and Sweden or/and Benelux countries, good understanding of Taxation and Social Security systems, employee benefits, employee and employer statutory contributions
- strong Accounting & Analytical skills (Journal Ledgers, Expense Allocations, Balance Sheet Reconciliations & Reviews)
- proficiency in MS Excel, Oracle Financial Systems experience is a distinct advantage
- excellent English language (verbal and written), other European languages as an advantage
- Masters Degree in Economy / Finance/Accounting
- experience in quality or cycle time improvement efforts is a plus
- strong analytical/problem solving and influencing skills required
- multitasking and ability to prioritize activities under the time pressure
- flexibility in working time, especially at the time of payroll cut off and accounting month closure
