About Northvolt Poland:
Northvolt Poland (Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden) is the facility to build battery modules and energy storage solutions located in Gdańsk, Poland. It consists of state-of-the-art production facility and R&D center.
In response to anticipated increased production demand Northvolt Poland enters into Stage 2 of its set-up in Gdańsk building an independent mass production factory for Battery Systems. For successful erection and commissioning of the new facility we are currently searching for several critical positions to support this project.
As a Senior Network Engineer you will get the opportunity to work with some of the cutting edge technologies and latest developments in the field of industrial networking, enterprise networking, datacenter & cloud networking. It is a unique opportunity to work with networking solutions that not only integrate/span across these multiple domains but aim towards full automation ("infrastructure as code") of the complete network infrastructure.
Your main responsibilities will be analysis and resolution of complex network problems, but you will also work with the team on design, operations and extensions of factory networks, datacenters, public clouds and office networks.
- Support or lead requirements gathering discussions with stakeholders across multiple business units
- Support or lead project implementation from requirements gathering, to building and deploying our networking infrastructure
- Plan and support management of the network and its services
- Coordinate vendors involved in implementing, and supporting our networks
- Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in network and information technology
- Experience implementing communication networks for complex WAN/LAN architectures and cloud networks
- Experience working with Cisco family of products is a plus (not mandatory, we will consider equivalent experience)
- Experience working with Industrial Ethernet or any deterministic Ethernet protocols
- Familiarity and/or experience with software defined networking
- Experience in telecommunications vendor selection/negotiation
- Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus
- Excellent English written and oral skills, Polish is a plus
- Highly organized and result-driven

This role would need the candidate to be physically available to oversee the infrastructure being set up in a new factory and thus 100% remote work will not be possible at this time.
