Job purpose:
Visa’s success in leading the mobile payments space requires reaching out beyond the traditional payments ecosystem to work with new partners collaboratively. Mobile operators and handset manufacturers are key partner-suppliers for Visa and Visa Issuers to enable mobile contactless payments using SIM technology and new NFC handsets coming to market. For Visa, the effective delivery of Visa products to drive mobile payments is a key pillar in helping to deliver the Visa Europe vision of displacing cash and growing electronic commerce revenues. The mobile payments ecosystem involves a number of new players that are new to Visa and Visa Issuers, requiring Visa to interact with and communicate with new and find new models and ways of working to deliver of mobile payment services to consumers. Building and maintaining relationships with mobile operators and handset manufacturers is key to ensure that Visa and Visa Issuers can reach all consumers with next-generation payment services enriched by mobile technology. The role involves working with a wider team in Visa to engage key European operators to find the right commercial and business solutions which leverage these players’ assets, achieve mass market scale for commercialisation and ideally, create a win-win for all involved in bringing mobile payments to consumers. This role will focus on unlocking the market for mobile contactless payments with partners in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania with an initial focus on Poland and Czech Republic.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensuring engagement across multiple levels in Visa and the operators/handset manufacturers, ongoing communications, regular contact, and education of Visa’s mobile strategy are integral to the role
- Contributing to shape the pre-commercial roll-outs of mobile contactless projects across Europe in conjunction with others in the team focusing on rolling out early-stage mobile payment services with “early moving” Visa Issuers
- Managing the business and product aspects of product advocacy to mobile operator and handset manufacturer partners across Europe, following these initiatives through to launch
- Engage with multiple levels within the partner organisation and serve as a point of contact for mobile operators and handset manufacturers to ensure active and regular communication and interaction with Visa
- “Match make” between key Visa Issuers and mobile operators/handset manufacturers to define and drive new projects in the market
- Define and manage a go-to-market-plan in conjunction with mobile operator and handset manufacturers across Europe
- Engage other departments across the business where other Visa products and services may be leveraged as part of the mobile relationship for additional synergies between the mobile and payments industries
- Represent Visa at industry forums, events and working groups to promote Visa as the preferred partner for mobile operator/handset manufacturers
Wymagania
Essential criteria:
- Expertise in the mobile or handset industry with in depth knowledge of how operators and manufacturers run their businesses and the key issues facing them
- Capability of interacting with multiple levels inside partner organisations and Visa, including senior level engagement
- Capable of understanding both business and product aspects of mobile NFC and other emerging mobile payment products, including the strategic implications of a changing payments ecosystem
- Track record of driving complex projects and/or relationships
- Ability to influence and build relationships at multiple levels in the telecommunications industry.
- Ability to negotiate and gain buy in from both internal and external stakeholders
- Good people and relationship building/management skills, capable of interacting with both internal and external stakeholders
