Senior Java/Oracle Developer (3 months in USA at start)

• Work as a technical lead and coordinator of distributed team with offshore resource(s).
• Provide L3 support coverage for the application (User and Production support).
• Participate in gathering and clarification of requirements with business users.
• Participate in new features development for the existing system - clarify business requirements, design required changes, provide effort estimations, do coding, unit testing, develop test scenarios and support further release phases.
• Routinely communicate with other team members in Ukraine /India. Provide help and expertise for development of new functionality.

• Strong Java development skills (+5 years) with experience working on distributed systems.
• Oracle/SQL development and architecture: 5+ years.
• Knowledge of messaging using Tibco EMS and MQ.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of Spring framework.
• Experience working with applications in financial services.
• JMS.
• Unix/Bash experience.
• Multi - threaded programming experience.
• Experience in JUnit/ Unit Testing and Design Patterns.
• Linux, shell scripting.
• Experience in complex project environments, builds, deployment and configuration aspects.
• Good analytic thinking.
• Very good spoken and written English.

Nice to have:

• Spring Integration or/and knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns.
• Oracle performance tuning
• Knowledge of basics from investment banking domain

Our customer is an investment bank. There is a set of intermediate systems for the efficient gathering data (orders, executions, cleared trades, allocation instructions and bookings) from different markets and linking them together to form a complete picture of trading activity.

The role is supposed to be of the technical lead and coordinator who will be based in Krakow. The developer will start work in Jersey City, USA and is expected to return and continue from Krakow after Feb 2015.
