Responsibilities:
- Provide innovative design solutions for systems initiatives
- Review and develop application code for new and modified programs that meet user requirements and conform to departmental SDLC standards
- Create and execute unit test cases while clearly documenting all test results
- Support business users during user acceptance testing
- Communicate effectively and proactively with business users, vendor, and all systems staff
Analytical skills:
- Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and be well organized
- Ability to quickly understand custom processes
- Strong data collection skills using modestly complex SQL (joins, merge, group by, unions, distinct, etc.) and the ability to present and explain the data
- Critically evaluate information and summarize into detailed description of issue(s)
- The individual should be a quicker learner, and able to work independently in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Prepare essential documentation to define requirements, test plans, analysis, etc.
Management skills:
- Team player; must be self motivated, have strong analytical skills, plan and manage time effectively, and be customer-focused
- Able to work well with others both in the team as well as with users
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
Technical and development knowledge:
- 5 plus years of solid application development and database design using formal SDLC processes
- Solid experience in the design and development of n-Tier Object Oriented software applications using Java J2EE (JDK 1.5+) and user interface technologies using Java Server Faces (JSF), HTML and JavaScript
- Applied knowledge of basic J2EE Design Patterns
- Experience deploying applications to Websphere or Weblogic application server
- Experience working on unit testing framework like JUnit and other open source frameworks
- Experience developing complex PL/SQL procedures and database triggers
Technical Skills:
- J2EE, RAD 8, Java, Oracle 10, Microsoft Windows Server, Ultra Edit, SQL, PL/SQL, Hyperion, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Sybase; Cognos knowledge is a plus
