Join our Turbine Systems team as an Senior Electrical Compliance Engineer.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate professional, to join our Turbine Systems, Electronics Group as Electrical Compliance Engineer. This position requires formal electrical engineering background, backed by hands-on experience in product certification or validation. The main objective of this position is to perform work to ensure that new and existing products are designed and manufactured to meet safety compliance requirements for all global markets where products are sold.
- Supporting regulatory compliance efforts required for global market access and obtaining country specific listings
- Provide input during all phases of the product design process to ensure compliance to applicable standards/directives
- Create test procedures for product safety requirements
- Coordinate testing and certification activities internally or with outside certified laboratories
- Development and/or review of department and organizational procedures
- Fulfilling consultant role with suppliers to help them gain certification of their products
- Staying current with applicable global product safety standards and directives
- Managing all aspects of compliance (product safety) responsibility for projects, including project planning on complex projects
- Full responsibility as compliance liaison with internal and external customers, outside suppliers and regulatory agencies
- Determining compliance tactics to match product or market strategy, which may include customer negotiation
- Coordination of technical tasks on multiple projects
- Providing technical assistance for quality related issues
- Providing engineering change review for compliance issues
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in combined product safety, regulatory and/or engineering product development/validation
- Ability to interpret technical drawings (electrical circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, control cabinet layouts. Mechanical drawings)
- Competency in specific directives and standards associated with assignment to a given market or specialized field (ATEX, LVD, MD, North American Ordinary Locations, or North American Hazardous Locations)
- Demonstrated ability to conduct regulatory/notified body product, quality system and directive audits
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate complex requirements and schedules to external agencies (TUV, UL, CSA, or others)
- Competency in working with all internal documentation systems (e.g. Databases, Technical Files)
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, or other quality management systems
- Basic leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, teamwork abilities
