The AI/ML & BI Platforms Team has been established to create, operate, and run enterprise AI/ML & BI Platforms that will facilitate the time to market for analytics and data science teams to run experiments, train models and generate insights. Core to the team’s principles will be the implementation of data and model governance standards and operationalization of the model release process.

The Senior AI Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing data models and ETL pipelines to meet platform requirements, troubleshooting and resolving platform defects, unit and integration testing. The Senior AI Data Engineer is expected to be an expert in data development, following best practices and conducting code reviews and training for internal teams.
About the Role
In this opportunity you will:
Create best practices for data development, conduct user training and code reviews
Assist in operationalizing AI/ML workflows focusing on code optimization and code standards
Create pipelines for data ingestion and data transformations
Ensure consistency with data and cloud architectural guiding principles
Approach development work with a DevOps and continuous integration mindset.
Continuously challenge and evolve the existing platform capabilities and keep up to date with new offerings
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Senior AI Data Engineer if you meet all or most of these criteria:
Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent work experience.
5 years of experience in data development with demonstrable, proven expertise in design and development of high volume, high velocity data ingestion, complex data transformation using traditional ETL technologies or modern data ingestion/processing technologies.
Minimum 4 years of experience working with relational databases like Oracle, Postgres or similar using SQL. Should have hands on experience in writing performant queries/procedures handling complex functionalities. Experience in NoSQL databases and dealing with unstructured data is essential.
Hands on experience in developing data warehousing and big data analytics applications using big data frameworks like Hadoop, Spark and/or Flink and leveraging services such as AWS EMR or Google DataProc, Big Query.
Strong understanding of concepts of ETL, ELT and data modeling.
Programming experience in languages such as Java, C#, Python etc.
Experience in troubleshooting performance issues resulted from high volume data during processing from upstream & serving to the downstream applications.
Experience with Agile development and delivery – Scrum, Lean, XP, Kanban methodologies.
