We are looking for candidates who are ready to apply and perform interesting and challenging role of Assistant Controller. This assignment covers both transition and delivery tasks. In this key role you will be responsible for the quality of specific RTR processes within prescribed guidance levels. You may be required to interface directly with the customer on transaction requirements.
Transition phase:
- Validate the existing procedures and test new solutions
- Participate in new system implementation
- Prepare process maps and desktop procedures
- Establish very good relationship with the client
- Transition duration: up to 1 month at the Client’s locations
- This position is required to perform detail internal review of Account Reconciliations, Journals, and Reporting before it is reviewed by client
- Review of existing control mechanism and identifying better controls to ensure quality output to client
- Working with Team Manager /Operations Managers to ensure that the KPI’s for the process are being met, issue management and escalation appropriately
- Perform review of all General Ledger daily and monthly deliverables including review of JE, running required reports
- Reviewing the trial balance and balance sheet and identifying material variances
- Working closely with the territory controllers on process related issues and being the first point of contact to address any escalations
- Ensures that the review checklist for the various business units are reviewed and updated periodically
- Co-ordination of month-end closing process, meeting monthly reporting calendar deadlines and SLAs
- Handle regular communication with the Client counterparts and build relationship with them for the future delivery
- Close cooperation with other Service Delivery Center team, within accounting area
- Co-operation with Accounting and Tax Managers, Business Unit Controllers and other Departments
- Assisting in internal/external audits, preparation of required documents.
- Provide excellent service to customers of the delivery Centre and ensure high level of customer satisfaction
- Work on process improvement initiatives with in the centre
- Education background in Finance / Accounting / Economics is required
- Strong accounting knowledge
- Strong Quality audit/ review skills especially with complex engagements
- ACCA/CPA qualifications (or in progress) would be an asset
- At least 5 years experience in RTR/GL
- Good Analytical & Problem solving skills apart from an understanding of business numbers and accounting
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Very good knowledge of French
- Very good knowledge of English
- Very good knowledge of MS Excel
