Department Overview
Project Accounting team acts as finance analyst/controller for key Motorola system implementation projects in Europe, Africa and Middle East region. The team works independently with project managers having responsibility over overall project financials.
We are looking for a high potential leader of this organization that will be responsible for overall Project Accounting for product segment and manage a team of project specialists. This is exciting opportunity to have a huge exposure into business and ability to influence decision making.
Job Description
- Management of the team of Project Accounting Specialists,
- Ensure high quality and timing of service delivery,
- Partner with regional financial controllers and non-finance partners based in various MSI locations to drive business growth and support their key goals and initiatives,
- Oversee month-end activities,
- Analyze P&L results and provide recommendations,
- Present accounting and projects' results on a regional accounting review,
- Control project financial results for the region,
- Attend quarterly project reviews,
- Consolidate/manage monthly quarterly reporting,
- Deferred cost forecasting,
- Approve balance sheet account reconciliations,
- Participate in audits and being a business owner for SOX controls,
- Participate in new initiatives, projects to drive process improvements,
- Ad-hoc tasks as appear
- The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of leadership/management,
- At least 7 years of demonstrable finance/accounting experience,
- Very good understanding of P&L and Balance Sheet,
- Good understanding of revenue recognition principles,
- Experience in leadership, working with business partners, controllers around the world,
- University degree in finance or accounting,
- Excellent English, candidate is able to hold business unit specific discussions with business partners worldwide, also with external parties,
- Advanced use of MS Excel,
- Challenge status quo mindset, “Can do” attitude, energy and enthusiasm,
- High analytical skills and ability to link various data sources to reach conclusions,
- Ability to learn new IT systems,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
