Job Description:

  • Assesses, builds, trains, and leads a team of sourcing and procurement specialists to manage sourcing and procurement processes
  • Continuously contributes to the enhanced operational efficiency and staff competence in usage of the procurement platform: Ariba Spend Visibility, Sourcing, Contract Management, Supplier Information Management, Supplier Performance Management, and Procure-to-Pay
  • Develops appropriate departmental objectives in line with business goals and monitor department's performance against objectives
  • Continuously and proactively monitor progress through benchmarking against class leading procurement organizations, recognized measurement frameworks and engagement with external bodies and organizations.
  • Leads, along with the Director of Indirect Procurement, the development of indirect procurement strategy and tactics for Tier 3 and Tier 4 agreements.
  • Effectively plans and leads the negotiation strategy for complex sourcing events. Negotiates or manages the negotiation of contract terms and conditions, cost savings, service levels, and performance standards to meet desired outcomes
  • Regularly participates in business unit meetings to communicate or collaborate on initiatives, project activity, supplier performance and business planning
  • Achieves significant cost savings and cost avoidance through creativity and use of effective supply chain management techniques

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, finance, management, or accounting, or 10 years of progressive experience within the indirect services categories or related experience
  • Broad technical knowledge of the indirect services categories and related work streams
  • Demonstrated results in a global supply environment
  • Proven skills in negotiation and influencing
  • Ability to perform job functions with considerable independence and judgment
  • Leadership and influence are exercised through participation in task forces, peer teams, and conferences
  • Ability to lead a team that is based in multiple locations while deploying standard Procurement tools, processes and training modules
  • Well organized individual with excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Broad, thorough, and comprehensive knowledge of category management, business and supply chain management practices, theories, principles, and disciplines
