A global manufacturing group with mutiple sites across Europe and with continued expanson and growth now
have a requirement for an experienced Procurement Director looking after several sites across Europe. Based in the Silesia region of Poland, it is a wonderful opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced leader.
Position outline role functional requirements:
- Ensure that the purchasing strategies and planning are correctly aligned with its overall corporate strategy
- Lead centralised direct and indirect sourcing, supplier quality and purchasing efforts
- Balancing a budget as per the company’s constraints
- Manage effective collaboration with all internal stake holders
Primary duties, specialist functions:
- Provide vision, leadership, planning, project coordination and people management for the development of an effective department
- Management of the entire purchasing functionalities & strategy
- Accomplish financial objectives, prepare an annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions
- Build positive professional relationships with own team members, members of other departments, vendor partners
- Design and implement 3-year road map for procurement team
- Oversee the development and execution of commodity strategies across all commodities within span of control
- Establish policies and procedures for department and ensure compliance
- Develop effective goals, standards, and metrics to keep track of the company’s and employee’s key performance indicators (KPI)
- Creating and managing relationships with suppliers
- Develop strategy to support supplier quality performance improvement
- Communicate job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising
- Product compliance assurance according to Compliance Policy, law and market demands
- Realisation of the Compliance Policy, it’s goals and raising concerns
- Fulfillment of tasks and obligations resulting from the Compliance Team Membership

Required professional competencies (min. preconditions for the job function):
- Education - Master's degree
- Professional Experience - 10+
- Language skills - Fluent English as a minimum
- Personal competencies (e.g. able to work independently, enterprising, team player etc.) - Ability to effectively lead and motivate teams across a variety of functional roles, Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills, whilst ensuring strong mentoring and succession planning roadmaps
- Technical competences - Ideally from heavy industry background with a knowledge of engineering and chemical technologies
- Managerial competences - Strong leadership, communication skills, strong analytical skills, negotiation power
- IT skills - SAP, MS Office
- Miscellaneous (i.e. number of days of travel per year) - Frequent travel as the role is a Europewide functions
