We are looking for candidates for the position of:
Location: Katowice with travel to plant sites in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia and Croatia
The purpose of the role is to optimize labor, material & equipment resources to ensure CHEP products are repaired to a high quality criteria & available to meet the customers’ demands. Contract Management of Pallet Operations and Carrier
Responsibilities:
- Manage Plants‘ locations, operations, and third-parties to ensure effectiveness, cost efficiency and quality of Plants
- Manage third parties to ensure that the check and repair process is maintained according to plan & quality criteria;
- Control storage, stock rotation, stock levels, forklift truck activity to ensure appropriate capacity at Plants
- Ensure that all Plant activity complies with current H&S legislation;
- Measure performance against clear standards – performance reporting on KPIs;
- Represent the Operations function and actively contribute to creation of country strategic business plan
- Build strong relationships based on cooperation with other Teams;
- Participate in current department projects and other tasks as delegated by the Manager.
- Stay aware of transportation industry changes via visits to key carrier sites, customer visits, attending industry conferences and developing a communication network of industry representatives
- Supplier relationship management with carriers via review meetings and continuous monitoring tracking
- Track, manage and challenge carrier performances including rates, capacity and service commitments
- Manage escalation of Supplier Service complaints to support on resolution, escalations and triggers and supports Service audits
- Local customer collaboration negotiation to develop CHEP and customer network and develop the understanding of customer transport sourcing needs
- Manage monthly / quarterly meetings with carriers including developing Top to Top relationship

What we expect is that you have experience with:
- 5 years management in Operations & Quality
- Lead & achieve results in pan-European, multi-site environment,
- Multi-lingual teams & blue-collar sites knowledge
- Negotiation and contract background
- Extensive experience with budget management
- Previous logistics/supply chain/distribution/shipping experience
- Supply Chain background is an advantage
What qualifications, skills and knowledge we expect from you:
- Bachelors/ Master degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent
- Fluent English
- Computer: M/soft Office tools,
- Personal: energetic; relationship builder, team leader & player, decision maker, strategic & critical thinker, excellent communicator & organiser; worked successfully in matrix structure
- Technical competencies to include: transportation contract structure, project planning and development, budget management, procurement, information technologies, experience with analysis and design of supply chain solutions
- Knowledgeable on the regulatory and legal aspects of rates and economics of transportation services, costs, operations, customs and negotiations in the area of responsibility
- Business competencies to include cost-benefit analysis, negotiation
