Your challenge
Are you familiar with packaging structure design and managing large numbers of new packages to be created in a short time frame? Having an eye for details, quality, cost effectiveness and for packaging design rules? Then this might just be your next challenge!
Your responsibilities
In this challenging yet rewarding role, you will design, develop and release packaging structure in close cooperation with suppliers and all parties involved in packaging creation process (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics…).
You will continuously benchmark, validate and improve packaging/loading/transportation/cost solutions.
You will also take part or manage End-2-End pPackaging Engineerackaging creation projects, working with virtual teams around the globe. The projects can vary from simple changes of packaging size or construction to introductions of product families, manufactured and sold around the globe.
Your tasks consist of:
- Packaging structure design (shape, specification, etc.), its feasibility at suppliers, manufacturability in factories, tests and release – finding most optimal solutions based on requirements & guidelines, within given timeframe
- Creative structure design in cooperation with Graphic Design and Marketing
- Packaging consultancy, expertise & support towards organization:
- Manufacturing for packing process & technology,
- Quality for packaging complaints, release process
- Procurement within suppliers releases, allocations, audits, tenders, technical opinion, etc.
- Packaging data and documents updates
- Project coordination, project administration, planning and execution.
- Continuous benchmark, validation and improvement of packaging
Your team
You will be part of the global Packaging Competence Center of Philips Lighting. You will report to the Manager of the European Packaging Competence Center; the role is based in Piła.

We are looking for
To be successful in this role you have:
- BS or Master degree in a relevant technical discipline and relevant working experience
- Experience in packaging design/development
- Project management skills
- Packing process and packaging/printing manufacturing knowledge
- Experience in working in “virtual” team, multinational environment and dealing with complex stakeholder management.
- Written and verbal excellence in English.
- Hands-on, pragmatic and flexible.
- Stress-resistant and able to work under pressure.
- Precise and conscientious; yet able to keep an eye on the big picture at the same time
