Oracle Developer / System Engineer

Development and Improving application infrastructure, interacting with developers and production support, configuring and improving existing infrastructure, simplifying release process, investigations, research, activities related to programming and coding, taking part in planning and risk assessment, active participation in distributed agile process.

Successful candidates should have 3+ years' experience in similar positions and are expected to have excellent technical and interpersonal skills. You should be able to understand our partners' requirements and quickly resolve any potential issue both in the project as well as in the productive environment. You are expected to have a successful track record in a similar environment for both of the disciplines in scope here, i.e. software development lifecycle with focus on the integration of 3rd party components.

From a technical point of view you should have in depth knowhow and profound experience (with demonstrated practice during the last 3+ years) in the following areas:

• Experience in Unix (Linux is preferable, Solaris is desirable): set-up environment, writing and maintaining Perl and Shell scripts
• Experience in Oracle (SQL and PL/SQL scripts, optimization and basic administration)
• Experience in set-up, develop and maintain complex solutions based on Unix and Oracle.

Soft skills

• Good communication skills in order to cooperate with professionals from other companies
• Ability to quickly learn new software and systems

Having next skills will be a big plus:

• Experience in CMOD (IBM Content Manager OnDemand, IBM CM OnDemand) or TSM (IBM Tivoli Storage Manager)
• Experience in Enterprise Archive or similar solutions
• NetApp SnapLock Compliance and SnapLock Enterprise
• Knowledge and experience in IT Security: authentication, authorization, cryptography, etc.
• Experience in XML and parsing

The main target of the project is to migrate to new platforms and refactor an existing Enterprise Archive Solution. This solution is using in a large Investment Bank for process and archive all artefacts according to security and regulatory rules.

It has a complex architecture based on Unix, Oracle, IBM CMOD (Content Manager OnDemand), IBM TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager), NetApp SnapLock and IBM WebSphere. The solution has 7 key components hosted on Unix and WebSphere, integrated with TSM, CMOD and SnapLock and using Oracle for storing meta data and as a staging area.

There are several key milestones for this project:

• One or two Senior Engineers have a business trip to Singapore in order to communicate with our partner's team that developed and supports this solution and provide a PoC to prove the capability of the upgraded software to manage the requirements. At the ned migration strategy and plans are provided. Then engineers return/relocate to Krakow and more engineers and testers are joining the team.
• Once the PoC environment has been built and tested, the team installs and configure the upgraded software packages on replacement development and test servers. It is also develop and test the plans and cutover and migration scripts for the production environment.
• Perform/assist with migration of the existing production environment and data.
