About the job:
The Network & Telecoms Team Lead works as part of the Infrastructure Services team and is responsible for the management and operations of all Network and Telecoms Systems across various sites in Europe.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Contribute and maintain the Network Management strategy
- Define, maintain and implement Network Management policies, procedures and work instructions
- Accountable for the maintenance of RRD’s Network Management docs
- Support all internal and external audits in line with our IT Governance approach
- Support IT projects in all phases of the lifecycle
- Maintain solution documentation and CMDB
- Supplier management of 3rd parties providing services to the Network team.
- Provide line management of a team of 4 – hire, develop, coach, supervise
- Provide escalation support for technical and resource conflict issues
Key Requirements/ competencies
- Technical Expertise- CISCO networks, switches, routers, firewalls, VPN; CISCO CCNA/CCNP certificate would be an asset
- Technical Expertise – Capable of setting standards and techniques for
- deployment within team.
- Supports Technical Architects in proposing solutions.
- Leads review of solutions implemented by colleagues and provides technical advice, guidance and assistance to colleagues and is viewed by the management team within Technology as an SME.
- Able to identify areas of service improvement in process and technology.
- Financial Management - develops cost’s effective solution and manage to an agreed budget.
- Relationship Management - Able to adjust communication to all stakeholders
- ITIL foundation
- Customer Management - Able to work with internal and external customers
- People Management – Able to manage a team of engineers
- Support technical skill development within the team
- Project Management- defines, documents and carries out projects
- Quality Management - Understands RRD Quality policy and able to follow SOP
Skills
- Excellent analytical ability aligned with a logical working approach
- Ability to work effectively in a busy team environment
- Good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and written. English is essential
- PM experience – Prince or Agile more than welcome
- Ability to convert a set of requirements into a documented solution
