As part of Worldwide Education, the Systems & Support organization develops, manages, maintains and supports the systems & tools that enable the delivery of courses, documentation and other content in a best in class environment.
- Plan the release dates of project deliverables and the release life cycle.
- Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending on release scope and defect backlogs
- Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected.
- Track the progress of projects and find issues, if any.
- Measure and monitor progress to ensure releases are delivered on time and within scope
- Schedule the release readiness reviews (go/no-go) before deployment; coordinate cutover activities across multiple development teams and vendors
- Create Jira plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule.
- Plan and give weekly updates on the release activities
- Lead change control for scope changes to technology requirements
- Lead the UAT, cutover and Go-Live activities to deploy the release successfully.
- Maintain documentation related to procedures by release
- Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
- Schedule critical meetings including training delivery post release.
- Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
- Maintain the release schedule and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
- Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
- Communicate release details such as plans, timelines, requirements, etc. between different teams.
- Participate on functional project teams as required.
- Interface with and maintain a network of global business contacts within and outside Worldwide Education
- Act as a leader in definition of technology solutions that drive a strategy to promote a positive environment
- Proficient with English verbal and written communication.
The successful candidate must possess the following:
- 1-3 years of Experience
- Experience with Jira projects, plans and backlogs
- General Knowledge of Project Management, DevOps and SAFe Agile including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban methodologies
- Information Technology specific project management (Small to Medium) preferred
- Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle, application infrastructure, system architecture, and learning systems preferred but not required
- Problem-solving and analytics skills and attention to detail
- Project Management and the ability to influence without authority
- Ability to find innovative solutions to mitigate dependencies and risks for deliverables
- Strong background in modern software development practices, principles, and tools
- Work with teams across different time zones as needed
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills.
