IT Project Manager (Business Innovation section)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Key meaning of the Role will be daily operations of the Business Innovation PMO including but not limited to facilitation of weekly portfolio status reporting cadence processes, identification, escalation, and follow-through of critical and high priority project issues and risks, and support Head of Business Innovation PMO with the design and implementation of PMO process improvement related projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Facilitate collection of weekly Application Development and Infrastructure status reports
- Update weekly PMO project dashboard and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Consolidate and distribute weekly executive status pack with executive summary/highlights
- Identify critical portfolio issues and risks for management review and action
- Review all project status reports and identify PM discipline opportunities for review with Delivery Managers and Project Managers
- Identify consistent themes for PM discipline continuous improvement opportunities
- Generate and maintain portfolio timelines and Gantt charts including project interdependencies
- Support communications with the Business Innovation PM community
- Support the generation and implementation of project management methods and standards
- Support Head of PMO with the implementation of standard project management and collaboration tools
- Conduct required activities to support PMO resource management plan
- Facilitate discussions with project stakeholders to define all project tasks and resource needs
- Monitor progress of projects across the portfolio
- Support project teams in documenting and implementing lessons learned
- Support the generation and tracking of PMO performance metrics.
EDUCATIONAL/SKILL/EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES:
Minimum Qualifications:
- University degree or related experience
- 2+ years of experience as a project coordinator and/or Project Manager for small and medium sized projects
- Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills; must be able to interact with personnel in multiple business roles
- Very good English verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a global setting including multiple cultures, time zones and potential language barriers
- Formal Project Management Training or equivalent work experience
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, and Visio.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Certification (PMP, Prince2) in Project Management a plus
- Experience with Automation Centre TrackerSuite a plus.
