Your role
Do you know how to make the right call in challenging situations? Do you enjoy investigating complex issues / situations and proposing solutions? We're looking for someone like that to:
- Monitor the status, follow up on, and review remediation actions submitted by the business for closure to access whether those have addressed the relevant original risks,
- Evaluate the effectiveness of controls designed to address these risks, provide practical, innovative, and value-added solutions to issues,
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders on issues related to individual items as well as remediation themes identified in different areas,
- Build and maintain strong relationship with key stakeholders,
- Proactively contribute towards developing detailed procedures, guidance and FAQs for the issue assurance process and identify, assess and prioritize process improvements / system enhancements.
Your team
You will be working in Group Internal Audit (GIA) Team in Krakow. GIA is an independent function that supports UBS in achieving its strategic, operational, financial and compliance objectives. We do this by assessing key processes as well as governance, risk management, and the control environment within all business divisions and Corporate Center (CC) functions globally. We are independent in our work and report directly to the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee. GIA's structure consists of divisional and functional Audit Teams throughout the world, reflecting UBS structure.
As Issue Assurance Specialist you will gain insight into a wide variety of businesses and functions and leverage your knowledge to review, assess and opine on the success of remediation actions / efforts taken by owners of issues from all business areas.
The position is based in Zabierzow k/ Krakow (Krakow Business Park).
Your experience and skills
You have:
- A university degree, preferably in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or in similar area,
- Several years of relevant experience in internal or external audit, compliance, operational risk control or internal risk management areas, preferably within the financial industry or professional services firms,
- Strong analytical skills – you are able to quickly understand complex processes and challenge the status quo,
- An excellent verbal and written command of English with the ability to effectively communicate with senior stakeholders,
- Good understanding of financial markets, operational aspects, as well as process flows within and between banks / counterparts.
You are:
- Flexible and willing to handle various and different topics and to keep up with financial industry developments,
- Excellent communicator, able to effectively communicate at different levels of an organization, verbally and in writing,
- Curious and willing to discover all aspects of the bank, with the ambition to advance your career in an international environment.
