What the day will look like
You will be working with consultants and writers to produce quality design results across multiple channels, handling projects from initial stages right through to print production and final delivery. As well as being able to receive and understand briefs, you will also be using your creativity to help develop new ideas and approaches, on the practical as well as conceptual side.
- Develop and maintain design templates for production and execution, including print collateral, presentations, social media assets, graphics for banners in email and website.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal colleagues.
- Update HTML templates and design of new ones.
- Work in an Aon United manner with all colleagues and third party vendors, ensuring adherence of Aon’s behaviours, standards, messaging and code of conduct at all times.
- Be a creative who can take a professional brief, ask the right questions and through good listening skills be able to question and deliver a well thought out design rationale.
- Work with a range of media and formats (photography, vectors, typography, etc.)
- Proofread to produce accurate and high-quality work
- Obtain approval of concept by submitting rough layout for review
- Agree with consultants, project managers, printers, copywriters, photographers, or other designers.
- Printer liaison: Requesting quotes, getting timescales, working out logistics, giving instructions.
- Prepare files for print: pre-flight files, build print ready pdfs and packaged files, upload files to our printers’ ftp sites.
- Handle complex and highly confidential information by working closely with our print-programmers’ variable data specialists to create white space management for Total Reward Statements and liability management exercises (eg personalised financial mailings).
- Best Practice Framework: Follow the BPF and provide proactive ideas for continuous improvement in our processes - to inspire, innovate and harness new ways of thinking.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite software; specifically - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator (knowledge of Dreamweaver and Premier Pro a plus).
- Experience working as a designer (across print and digital).
- Ability to connect design concepts
- Ensure that project deliverables meet client requirements and quality standards.
- Excellent planning skills and working to deadlines.
- Ability to work successfully in a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office packages, specifically Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
