Główny Księgowy (Chief Accountant)

Role and Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely completion of the month, quarter, and year-end close.
• Prepare materials for presentation to the Board of Directors, management teams and external stakeholders.
• Provide accounting support for special projects and ad-hoc reporting and analysis as necessary.
• Reviewing and recording of bank transactions.
• Focus on reconciling cash, capital assets, and enter/reconcile general journal entries.
• Review, recommend changes (e.g. cost saving), and enforce all accounting policies.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
• Review manufacturing variances, scrap, and cycle counts weekly.
• Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during yearly review.
• Coordinate all tax filings including income tax, sales/use tax and property taxes.
• Correct and accurate reporting to Polish governmental departments, such as GUS or other mandatory legal requirements (PFRON...), connected with accounting.
• Keep overview and plan accounts payable.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting
• 4-6 years of relevant accounting experience in manufacturing cost accounting environment
• Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
• Experience with Manufacturing ERP software 
• Advanced Excel skills and communicative English abilities.
